Mobile Clinic for Remote Himalayan Villages
In the remote Himalayan region of Nepal, dozens of villages are scattered across rugged mountain terrain, making access to healthcare extremely difficult. The nearest hospital is over 100 miles away, requiring multiple days of travel on foot and by vehicle. For many villagers, this journey is impossible during medical emergencies or in harsh weather conditions.
Namgyal, a 67-year-old farmer, recently lost his wife to a treatable infection because they couldn't reach medical care in time. "If we had a doctor nearby, she would still be with us today," he shared, tears welling in his eyes. "No one should have to watch their loved ones suffer when help could have saved them."
One Warm Wish is working to deliver a fully-equipped mobile clinic to serve 15 isolated villages in this region. The mobile clinic will cost approximately $125,000 and includes:
- A rugged 4x4 vehicle specially modified for mountain terrain ($45,000)
- Essential diagnostic equipment including portable ultrasound, ECG, and lab testing equipment ($35,000)
- Treatment supplies for common conditions ($15,000)
- Maternal and child health services equipment ($10,000)
- Vaccination refrigeration and supplies ($8,000)
- Telemedicine equipment to connect with specialists ($7,000)
- Training for local healthcare workers ($5,000)
The mobile clinic will rotate between villages on a regular schedule, providing consistent care to approximately 12,000 people who currently have no reliable access to healthcare. It will focus on preventive care, maternal health, childhood illnesses, and management of chronic conditions.
"This mobile clinic would be a miracle for our community," says Tashi, a village elder. "Our children and elders wouldn't have to suffer in silence anymore. We could get help before it's too late."
Your donation will help purchase, equip, and staff this life-saving mobile clinic. Every contribution brings us closer to our goal of $125,000 to get the clinic operational for one year.
